Oak-aged grape brandies, the category built up during the socialist period and still the domestic default. Preslav Pliska is the best-known name, alongside Karnobatska grape brandy and Pomorie Muskatova brandy — the latter distilled from Muscat and retaining noticeable floral character. Inexpensive and reasonably widely exported to diaspora markets.
